Virtual Communion

If you are joining us online for our worship services, we invite you to join us on the first and third Sundays for virtual communion. Any table where there is food and fellowship is a table God makes holy. Even though fellowship may be a little different online, we want to encourage you to feel that God is present with you no matter where you are.

Here are some things to consider as you prepare for virtual communion:

Before worship begins, have a piece of bread and a glass of wine or grape juice ready in the space where you are worshiping. This will allow you to maintain a mindset of worship instead of rummaging through your cabinets at the time of communion. If you don’t have bread or wine, consider what you have in your home. Crackers, another kind of juice? It is ok to be creative using what you have, those ordinary things in your home.

If you are worshiping with others in your home, share the bread and wine with the words “The body of Christ given for you” and “The blood of Christ shed for you.” If you are worshiping as an individual connected to our larger community, hear the words of Pastor Chelsey “The body of Christ given for you” and “The blood of Christ shed for you” as just that for you, and consume the bread and wine in that moment.

May you trust in the promise of God’s abiding presence as you join in worship, no matter where that may be.

Blessings and Peace be with you!
